woot! i made full ambassador!!!
so, i recommend that you read the guide, and do all the specific diplomat missions available. then, when you start getting the diplomatic investigations from jiro sugihara, take the "explore" mission for the same area. when you go into that cluster, you will get the diplomatic investigations button on the lower right. click that and you will finish a diplo mission AND it counts as the first of the 3 you need for the explore. i found that when doing the explores in conjunction with the diplo, you had a higher chance of getting "aid the planet" or another form of diplo mission. you will start to recognize the diplo missions after a while.

next up diplomatic grind tips.
some tips i have picked up.
two man teams
each member gets 3 "aid the planet" missions for each cluster.
*take the aid the planet mission and accept, but DO NOT DELIVER THE GOODS! just save the mission as open.
then two man teams take turns doing the other team-mates missions for him. teamA enters mission first, teamB delivers goods and does all dialog. teamA touches nothing until exiting.
teamA and teamB switch entry duty.
whoever enters, waits. 2nd man in talks and gives
when you have finished a set of 3 missions each, move to next cluster and repeat. you can go to three clusters or even two if fast and the first cluster resets. DON'T forget to be doing the explore missions. there is an accolade for up to 70 missions in each cluster. you have to act fast if you want these accolades as they will be gone after season 4.
