The Riddle of Admiral Frey
An XC puzzler by: Hstaphath

Stardate one dash eight thousand six hundred and eight,
Admiral Frey crossed the spaceways great.
With three Starships he made his trek:
the BattleCow, the Search, and the T'Lareck.
Aboard each ship Frey had placed,
a captain bold and handsome-faced.
The surnames of these captains three,
were Blade, Malystryx, and GC.
Upon the ship that first reached a new land,
the valiant Malystryx had command.
Admiral Frey nobly shared his ship,
with Captain Blade on this long trip;
their craft, though forced to veer and lurch,
by far came sooner than the Search.
Along the way, as if tempest-blown,
the BattleCow's commander trekked alone.
But tell me reader, if you can,
which ship was captain'd by which man?
Aboard which vessel stout and true,
did Admiral Frey travel and with who?
Which good ship arrived unsurpassed,
which one came second, which one last?
To answer, like a Vulcan, you will need,
a mind that's logical indeed.

The Answer to The Riddle of Admiral Frey

The BattleCow, by Malystryx ably manned,
was first of all to arrive where planned.
Admiral Frey on the T'Lareck,
came next with Blade on the deck.
The Search was last as one did have to be,
and was commanded by the bold GC.

Riddle Aftermath...

Hawkeye: Good one! but uhh... Ward didn't die! ;-)
Hstaphath: Please, please! This is supposed to be a silly riddle! ... Let's not bicker and argue about Ward dying on the Search when it hit that Ion storm. For, since the tragic death of the Ward--
762: He's not quite dead!
Hstaphath: Since the near fatal wounding of Ward--
762: He's getting better!
Hstaphath: For, since that upstanding Brit of an XC, the irrepressable Ward... who, when he seemed about to recover, suddenly felt the icy hand of death upon him,--
[a large airborne wooden wild weasel flies in out of nowhere directly at Ward]

[Splat!!!]
762: Oh, he's died!
